Similarity, no guarantee was a temporary collaborative art installation in a pavilion designed by the Nordic architect Haakon Mjelvas in 1966. The pavilion is located in the Grorud borough of Oslo, in what is now a taxi rank. The idea was to create a temporary/imaginary art gallery in order to test out this place for potential artistic practice, but at the same time to give attention to the lack of art institutions on the Oslo´s eastside. Qaradaki’s approach to the idea was to create an art gallery by covering various parts of the pavilion, and where different types of artistic activities should be arranged through performance, mini-seminars and video displays – during the daytime, as well as the nighttime.
